Rentals or Purchase?

We are thinking of renting a vehicle so we could go up North of Maine to see what is up there.  I know it would probably be a waste of time.  Just to check up North to get out for a while and explore.  It would be nice to get back to Connecticut to see the family.

I was going to purchase a vehicle but since we are going to be relocating outside of the US, decided not to.  Maybe when we get there and settle down.
